Hibs head coach Neil Lennon insists he has a squad that is capable of rolling their sleeves up and entertaining.

The former Celtic manager has been delighted with the Leith outfit’s last two performances even though they have only collected two points from 1-1 draws away to Dundee and St Johnstone.

Lennon’s only complaint was that his side did not convert their dominance into goals in Saturday’s Perth stalemate but, on the back of a disappointing home loss to Hamilton, hopes their recent form will set the tone for a productive spell in Premiership.

Lennon said: “Hibs may have gone to St Johnstone in the past and got beat but this team have a bit about them, a bit of steel but real quality as well.

“It was an outstanding performance and we thoroughly deserved to win the game, that’s the only disappointing aspect.

“I’m so pleased with the last two performances, the style of football we’ve been playing because McDiarmid Park is not an easy ground to go to.

“The football we played was fantastic and we should have won the game.

“I’m delighted with the way we’re playing at the minute, we’ll play worse and win games.

“I can’t ask any more of the players, we look a threat every time we attack – it’s just that little bit at the end that we’re missing out on but you’re hoping it will come.

“You can’t guarantee it will come but I’m hoping it will come.”

Motherwell are the visitors to Easter Road on Saturday and Lennon is expected to name another attacking line-up as Hibs bid to collect their first victory since beating Rangers a month ago.

He added: “We try to be forward thinking, we went with two wingers against St Johnstone. I was disappointed we didn’t come away with three points but Im absolutely delighted with the way we’re playing and the attitude of the players.

“We had 22 attempts on goal against St Johnstone, 21 the game before.

“We played a team that are unbeaten this season and outplayed them in terms of chances and set plays. I look at the overall picture and we were very good.”
