Aberdeen winger Peter Pawlett admits he hopes the supporters do not give him a hard time after signing a pre-contract with MK Dons.
The Scotland Under-21 cap turned down the offer of a new deal and a testimonial at Pittodrie in favour of a switch to English League One and will join Robbie Neilson’s side on a two-year deal this summer.
After traveling south to sign the paperwork, Pawlett is back in the squad for Saturday’s visit of Motherwell and the 26-year-old is hoping the fans can understand the reasons for making the move.
He said: “I have been at Aberdeen all my career and I feel I have been a good servant to the club, and hopefully it won’t be too bad with the reaction and things like that.
“I’m sure it will be fine, I’ll work hard for Aberdeen until the end of the season and I’ll also be looking forward to next year at MK Dons.
“Of course I’ll keep my eye on the results at MK Dons but I have to go back to Aberdeen and be professional.”
