SCOTLAND star Oliver Burke was on the score-sheet as Red Bull Leipzig warmed up for their glamour friendly against Rangers by demolishing Portuguese side Farense 6-0.
The 19-year-old netted the third goal of the game from the penalty spot as the German outfit ended their winter training camp in the Algarve in style on Wednesday afternoon.
Terrence Boyd, Zsolt Kalmar, David Selke, Timo Werner and in-demand Emil Forsberg – who has been linked with a £20 million switch to Liverpool during the transfer window – also got in on the act against the side from the third tier of Portuguese football.
Boss Ralph Hasenhuttl was left satisfied by the improvement in their second January friendly, having been hammered 5-1 by Dutch giants Ajax at the weekend.
Hasenhuttl said: “Everyone was given the chance to show what they can do on the pitch and that result was a good way to end our time here in Lagos. Especially in the first half, we were excellent, and you could tell we were fresher and more prepared.”
Leipzig, who have been the surprise package of the Bundesliga this season and remain just three points behind Bayern in the race for the title, will now jet back to Germany for their final fixture of the winter break against Rangers on Sunday afternoon.
