Newly-crowned League One champions Dunfermline Athletic have completed the signing of former Hearts midfielder Scott Robinson on amateur terms.
The 24-year-old was recently freed by Kilmarnock, less than a season into the three-year deal he penned last summer and has impressed as a trialist for the Pars.
Robinson featured for the Dunfermline’s under-20s side against their Hamilton Accies counterparts 10 days ago, scoring from the penalty spot in a 3-2 win.
And he has done enough to earn a short-term deal, allowing Fifers boss Allan Johnston to see him in competitive action before deciding whether to offer him a contract for next season’s Championship challenge.
Prior to his ill-fated move to Rugby Park, Robinson became the youngest player to feature in the Scottish Premier League when he made his Hearts debut at 16 years, 1 month and 14 days old. He want on to make 115 appearances for the Jambos.
He could make his Dunfermline debut against Albion Rovers tomorrow afternoon.
