Livingston interim chairman Robert Wilson has confirmed that Nottingham Forest have tabled a bid for highly-rated teenager Matthew Knox, but insists the Lions are in no rush to sell the striker.
The 16-year-old, who became the youngest player to make a Livingston first team bow when he came on in the Boxing Day win at St Mirren, is being tracked by a host of club’s south of the border.
Knox spent last week training with Manchester United’s Under-21s and has also had trials at Liverpool, Everton and Tottenham.
Manager David Hopkin, who has said that Knox has ‘unbelievable potential’, has also revealed that Swansea and Queens Park Rangers are also keeping tabs on the youngster.
But Wilson insists the West Lothian outfit are planning to take their time when considering offers for the player.
Wilson said: “We’ve had an offer from Nottingham Forest, which we’re looking at.
“He was just recently down for a trial at Manchester United and when you have clubs like that and Liverpool interested in him, then there’s no rush to sell.
“We hope that Matthew can continue to develop here for the time being.”
