DURING tomorrow’s city council meeting several topics will be raised with councillors posing questions on how the city is run – but one in particular sticks out from the rest.
One question set to be posed to the convener asks whether any meetings have been held regarding an Edinburgh to Fife hovercraft service.
Councillor Danny Aston of the SNP of the Craigentinny/Duddingston ward in the southeast of the city will ask the bizarre question to the convener of the transport and environment committee, Stephen Jenkinson.
The odd question is just one of many topics to be discussed at tomorrow’s full council meeting.

Also on the docket for discussion is firework control zones, a controversial topic discussed for a length of time following the death of a red panda at Edinburgh Zoo.
Councillors will also condemn the “ethnic cleansing of Palestinians” with councillor Simita Kumar bringing the motion before the council.
The use of the Braid Hills in South Edinburgh by arms company Leonardo will also be discussed, with the arms company having used the area to test communications equipment.
Councillor Ben Parker raised this motion and notes he: “Does not consider it appropriate for the council to facilitate the activities of arms companies on council land in this way.”
Whether or not President Donald Trump is welcome in Edinburgh is also to be discussed at the council meeting with two separate motions put forward to discuss this.
An important local issue, quad bikes and offroad vehicles damaging greenspace, is to be raised by councillor Marie-Clare Munro.
This comes following shocking footage shared to social media last month of quad bikes ripping up green space in Bruntsfield.
Several parks and green areas of the city have been destroyed by offroad vehicles recently with one football club having to change grounds because of the damage.
Importantly questions will also be given to the leader of the council Jane Meagher, with councillors set to grill her on former leader Cammy Day.
Meagher will face tough questions on when she discovered Cammy Day’s misconduct and exactly how much she knew about his behaviour.
