AN Edinburgh street was plastered with anti-trans materials in the lead up to a march on International Women’s Day.
The transphobic materials included stickers, fliers, graffiti and ribbons which were attached to lampposts and street sign posts up and down Leith Walk.
The vandalism occurred in the lead up to a march on International Women’s Day on Saturday with the materials appearing the day before.
Posts all along Leith Walk were targeted with dozens of individual items appearing up and down the busy street.

Stickers reading “gender affirmation is a lie” alongside notes reading “safe spaces for women” were spotted by locals.
There was widespread disagreement across Scotland on International Women’s Day with marches across the country taking place.
Many were interrupted and arguments were sparked when the issue of trans rights was raised on both sides.
A post was made to social media on Friday when the material was discovered on Leith Walk, with locals fuming at the transphobic vandalism.
It read: “There is transphobic TERF bullshit on every post and bus stop down Leith Walk (possibly further along the tram line).
“This is hate speech. Please take them down if you see them. Trans women are women. Leith is for everyone.
“Also, to the haters: stay mad. Happy International Women’s Day to all.”
The post received over 260 likes and more than a dozen comments from upset locals calling for the removal of the vandalism.
One said: “Thank you for highlighting. will endeavour to remove any I see on my walk home
“This thread’s going to be a good opportunity to block haters too. Don’t you have anything better to do with your time?”
Another replied: “There’s no LGB without the T”
