Edinburgh College of Art hosts book and zine fair

Edinburgh College of Art’s annual book and zine festival, Bookmarks, will take place at Sculpture Court. The fair will host a range of works from staff, students, and alumni from the schools of art, design, and beyond. Attend for an opportunity to meet the artists, buy fantastic pieces of work, and chat to fellow zine-lovers – all with free entry.

Cooks & Books: Bake Off winner speaks about her easy recipes

Organised by Topping and Company, Sunday Times bestselling author and cook, Nancy Birtwhistle will be at Edinburgh Academy with her debut cookbook Nancy’s Green and Easy Kitchen. Fifth-series winner of The Great British Bake Off, Nancy encourages small changes in the kitchen that taste great and help the environment. She’ll be talking about how to use seasonal ingredients and teaching us how to cook sustainable yet delicious meals.

Granton Goes Greener giveaway

The Big Giveaway, organised by Granton Goes Greener will take place this weekend. Donations include adult and children’s clothing, toys, books, DVD’s, kitchen utensils and much more. All items are free, and clothing is part of their Share ‘n’ Wear scheme, which saves quality clothes from being sent to landfill. No need to swap items and donations cannot be accepted on the day.

Eat Out Edinburgh, the festival which slashes restaurant prices across the city, is back tomorrow. Over 50 restaurants are involved, and a new event called the Supper Club will be held at the Hawksmore and Dean Banks at the Pompadour. Enjoy discounts at a range of eateries including Coro the Chocolate Cafe, The Botanist, and Cafe Andaluz.

As their POP LIFE exhibition comes to an end, the City Art Centre (CAC) are hosting CAC Late. The evening of live performance features artists such as Calvin Z Laing, cabaret maestro Len Goetzee, filmmakers Davide Bugarin and Angel Cohn Castle and Glasgow-born Michelle Hannah.
