EDINBURGH locals were stunned to see multiple armed police outside their homes on Peffermill Road yesterday.
Locals reported seeing around eight vehicles and an ambulance responding to an incident in the Craigmillar area.
It has been confirmed that the emergency services were responding to a report of concern for a man who was later taken to hospital and has now been arrested.
It is unclear what charge the 31-year-old was arrested under, but he is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court at some point in the future.

One concerned local posted to social media yesterday, saying: “Anybody in Edinburgh (Prestonfield/Craigmillar) know why the police are out in force?
“Armed police (rifles!) on our street from about midday today, plus 6-8 vehicles and an ambulance.
“No idea why, guess it must be something to do with drugs or weapons?”
Police Scotland released a statement today, saying: “Around 10:35am on Monday, 17 February, 2025, we were called to a report of a concern for a person in the Peffermill Road area of Edinburgh.
“Emergency services, including specialist resources, attended and a 31-year-old man was taken to hospital.
“He was also arrested and charged in connection with the incident and will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.”
