THE iconic Forth Bridges are now in use as Microsoft Windows screensavers worldwide.
The two bridges can now be seen on the screens of Windows users across the world after being highlighted by a German user on Friday.
The image in question appears at the login screen on Windows PCs and shows both the Forth Rail and Forth Road bridges.
The iconic red iron Forth Rail Bridge lies in the forefront of the image, chosen by tech giant Microsoft, with the Forth Road Bridge visible in the background.

Shot from the nearby town of North Queensferry, the aerial image also has an incredible view of the seaside town’s harbour.
The screensavers are known for showing beauty spots around the world with “Windows Spotlight” starting with Windows 10.
Windows Spotlight uses images from around the globe as screensavers and displays information about the location.
The Forth Bridges were only recently added to the rotation alongside global features like the Nile River and the Palace of Westminster.
The European Windows user shared a snap of the screensaver to a Scottish social media group to compliment the bridges.
Sharing the image of the screensaver to social media on Friday, the German user wrote: “One of your bridges on the Windows lock screen.
“I just wanted to post that your most iconic bridge, is on Windows’ lock screens as of today.”
The post received over 140 likes and more than 55 comments from Scots on social media admiring the screensaver.
One user wrote: “They really had to push the colour saturation on this one.”
Another commented: “Taken from Fife. Edinburgh is on the other side of the Forth estuary.”
A third said: “How much are the houses down there? Bet they cost a bomb.”
Another added: “I’m a fan of Windows 11 rotating wallpapers. Hope to see Scotland on there soon.”
A fifth replied: “Taken from near-enough one of the houses belonging to the fellow who owns Rockstar.”
