SCOTTISH automotive retail brand Macklin Motors will rebrand as Vertu this month as well as conducting a synchronised food drive to support Central Belt foodbanks.
The consolidation of Macklin Motors with the group’s wider network of Vertu dealerships starts a new chapter for its dealerships across the Central Belt.
Celebrating the rebrand in Scotland, Vertu is conducting a synchronised food drive to support several food banks across the Central Belt.
The food drive aims to relieve some of the pressure these organisations face during the post-Christmas period, and more specifically, the half-term break for schools in the region.
After collecting donations in the lead up to the Official ‘Vertu Food Drive’ on Wednesday 19 February, just shy of 20 dealerships spread across Dunfermline, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Ayr will simultaneously make their way to various local food banks.
This includes Dunfermline Foodbank, North Ayrshire Foodbank, and several parts of Edinburgh’s Food Project and Glasgow’s Community Food Network, to deposit carloads of non-perishable food contributions.
Vertu has a network of over 200 dealerships nationwide, from Dunfermline down to Truro, representing more than 30 of the world’s leading car manufacturers.
Robert Forrester, chief executive of Vertu Motors plc, said: “We are proud to announce the rebranding of Macklin Motors to Vertu, as this move allows us to draw upon the strength of our wider dealership network.
“Whilst the name on the door is changing, our dedication to our customers and our shared communities remains the same.
“The ‘Vertu Food Drive’ planned for later this month is intended to reinforce our commitment to supporting the regions we are located in.
“Across the Central Belt, by working with local charities and organisations, we’re aiming to make a tangible difference to those facing food insecurity during a difficult period of the year.
“As Vertu in Scotland, we look forward to strengthening and celebrating our relationships with our local communities, whilst continuing to provide our Scottish customers with the outstanding service they deserve.”
