Man killed by car in Burntisland named as Edinburgh local

A MAN killed by a car in Fife has been identified as an Edinburgh local.

The 61-year-old, who was struck by a vehicle in the Forth Place area of Burntisland, has been named as David Whitehurst.

At around 9:20pm on Monday, 27 January, Police Scotland officers received a report of a concern for a person at Burntisland Industrial Units.

Emergency services attended, but Mr Whitehurst was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family have said that he was very much loved by family and everyone that knew him

Enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
