Edinburgh testing firm 2i acquires nFocus

EDINBURGH-BASED testing firm 2i Testing has acquired nFocus, the UK’s longest established UK-owned testing consultancy.

The acquisition comes after 2i’s recent investment from Rockpool, which the company says aligns with its growth strategy to accelerate market presence and become the leading quality assurance company in the UK.

2i says it aims to “improve customer experiences” and “drive operational efficiencies” through leveraging nFocus’ complementary strengths.

Dave Kelly, CEO of 2i, said: “nFocus aligns perfectly with our vision, culture, and commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients.

“Their award-winning team of quality engineers and strong leadership bring a wealth of expertise and innovative capability to our organisation that will benefit everyone involved.”

Danny Crone, founder of nFocus explained: “When Ross Lister and I embarked on this journey nearly a quarter of a century ago, our vision was to build a business where talented individuals could thrive and where we could continuously delight our customers.

“I am incredibly proud to say that we have not only achieved this, but our team’s dedication and hard work have placed us in a remarkable position.

“This has led to an incredible and like-minded organisation, 2i, taking notice and expressing a desire to partner with us.

“I am overjoyed that this acquisition brings together two organisations that share a common culture of nurturing talent and a relentless drive for growth.

“Our combined efforts will undoubtedly fuel our ability to deliver exceptional outcomes for both our current and future customers.”

Ryan James, managing director at nFocus added: “This is an exciting and pivotal moment for us.?

“Two of the most successful testing organisations in the UK coming together in an organic way to create something truly unique and remarkable.

“Over the past three years, we have doubled our permanent headcount, onboarded over 40 new clients, and launched an award-winning Test Engineer Academy that has helped to address an industrywide scarcity.

“Joining forces with 2i amplifies this success, positioning us as the go-to provider for quality assurance and testing services.”

In the immediate term, both 2i and nFocus will continue to operate under their established brands, respecting their individual market recognitions.

Dave continues: “To our incredible teams at 2i and nFocus – this is your success story.

“This acquisition is about empowering you with more opportunities, tools, and resources to grow, develop, and make an even bigger impact.”
