LONDON fitness instructor Sarah Jaffar is set to unveil Scotland’s first and only Lagree fitness studio in Edinburgh’s city centre.

The Tallie studio will open on January 20, 2025, at 25 Greenside Place, bringing Hollywood’s favourite fitness fad to the city centre.

Lagree is a high-intensity, low-impact workout performed on a Miniformer Pro fitness bed that elevates workouts with enhanced resistance, slow and controlled movements, and high-intensity muscle engagement.

The fitness programme was founded by French personal trainer Sebastian Lagree and the method combines elements of pilates, strength training, and cardio.

Popularised in the US, Lagree is regarded for its ability to sculpt, tone, and transform the body in a short period of time and it has become Hollywood’s favourite exercise class, adored by celebrities such as Jennifer Aniston and Michelle Obama.

Classes will be led by well-known, male and female, Lagree-certified fitness instructors in Edinburgh, including Sara Gilhooley, Grace King and Jenna Robertson, as well as founder Sarah Jaffar.

Sarah Jaffar, said: “I immediately fell in love with the Lagree method during my time in London, I was instantly captivated by the slow tempo, high intensity and mental challenge that comes with Lagree.

“The fact that Lagree delivers such effective results in such a short period of time is also what inspired me to get certified and share this method with clients, which has ultimately led me to the exciting journey of opening my own studio.

“While studying for my psychology masters at Edinburgh University, I fell in love with the city’s blend of cultures and warm friendliness.

“There’s a strong sense of community here, which I want to add to by launching Tallie, I believe Edinburgh is the perfect home for Tallie and its mission to create a community around the power and joy of the Lagree method.

“At Tallie, you’ll not only stay on track but also connect with others who are on the same journey, fostering a sense of togetherness and support along the way.”

The Tallie space is a collaborative creation, designed by the award-winning Jeffreys Interiors and built by Nordic Studio, it features high-end Scandinavian furnishings, including custom-made Montana lockers, provided by Nordic Living by Biehl.

The studio has 14 Miniformer Pros, a spacious changing room, and communal bathrooms, including a shower.

Tallie’s creative vision is led by Sloe Studios, an Edinburgh brand experience agency founded by Alix Picken, who has been instrumental in creating and implementing both Tallie’s brand and its studio environment.

Of the branding experience, Sarah Jaffar said: “Working with Sloe Studios has been an incredibly rewarding experience.

“Alix and her team not only understood the vision for Tallie but helped bring it to life in a way that exceeded my expectations.

“Their ability to lead the creative direction and translate it into a cohesive space and brand identity has been invaluable.”
