POLICE Scotland have launched an appeal for information after a teen was rushed to hospital following an assault by a gang of yobs.
The incident occurred in Edinburgh’s Slateford Green on Monday and saw the 14-year-old victim taken to hospital for treatment.
The young victim was assaulted by a large group and reportedly suffered serious injuries as a result of the attack.
Up to ten attackers laid into the young lad with Police Scotland reporting three female and seven male assailants.
Police Scotland issued an appeal for information following the assault as they search for the perpetrators.
The victim was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children and Young People shortly after the attack at 8pm but has since been reported to be in a stable condition.
Speaking today Detective Sergeant Kimberly Tennant said: “This incident saw a teenager sustain serious injuries in an unprovoked attack and it is vital we trace all the individuals responsible.
“Extensive enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing for anyone with any information which may assist us to get in touch.
“We believe one of the suspects involved in the attack has also been injured, and has made his way to Westfield Road, Edinburgh following the incident.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have seen this injured male in the Westfield Road area to get in touch with us.
“I would also ask anyone who was in the area at the time and may have dashcam or private CCTV footage to contact us.”
