Road haulage professionals gathered to celebrate some of the biggest names in the Scottish transport industry.

A M Philip Trucktech Ltd, who provide commercial vehicles across Scotland, sponsored the award which was given to the council in recognition of the efficiency and productivity of their fleet operations.

In previous years, East Lothian Council and Aberdeen City Council took home the prize, but the City of Edinburgh managed to take precedence this time around.

Top spots were also handed to Scotland’s Transport Woman of the Year, won by Fiona Roger, and Scotland’s Top Tipper Operator, won by Collier Haulage.

The presentation of awards was accompanied by music from New Orleans-inspired nine-piece brass band, The Brass Funkeys.

The charity’s road safety project manager, Neil Rettie, gave a speech outlining the progress made this year.

On social media, Scott Millar who works as fleet and workshops manager at The City of Edinburgh Council, commented: “Very proud of the fleet team within The City of Edinburgh Council for this achievement”.
