SCOTTISH independent broadband provider GoFibre is marking the first anniversary of bringing fast, reliable broadband to the residents of Duns.
GoFibre has connected over 10% of Duns’ premises to full fibre and has encouraged all Borders residents to take advantage of its “Get Installed for Christmas” commitment which promises full connection for customers by Christmas if they sign up before November 30.
Founded in 2017, GoFibre now has more than 25,000 premises ready for service throughout the region across Duns, Galashiels, Kelso, Melrose, Selkirk, Hawick and Jedburgh.
Supporting local communities and causes has been at the heart of GoFibre, including support for the Borders Girls Rugby Club, the Melrose 7s, and Borders-based charity Escape Youth Services, with plans to support additional community projects in the future.
GoFibre is also committed to the recruitment of local talent, with a fifth of the company’s workforce resides in the Scottish Borders, helping to earn the company recognition as a Highly Commended Borders Business of the Year in 2024.
Gregor Watson, head of customer service at GoFibre said: “As a Duns local, it’s really fulfilling to see our company making a positive impact on the local community.
“By hiring local talent and understanding the unique needs of each area we serve, we’re ensuring that our customers and communities remain at the heart of everything we do.
“From a customer service perspective, I’m proud to see that approach paying off in my hometown.
“Recent analysis we conducted showed that people in Duns are the most likely to recommend GoFibre as a broadband provider of all areas within our network.
“We’re a friendly, approachable team so if anyone has any questions or is considering giving GoFibre a try, definitely give us a call and we might end up chatting together.”
