GILSON GRAY has celebrated recognition at the 20th Herald Law Awards of Scotland, where it won Litigation Team of the Year.
The firm, which operates across Scotland and England and recently expanded with the acquisition of London-based PCM Solicitors, was named as finalists in three categories: Debt Recovery, Family and Child Law, and Litigation Teams of the Year.
It was ultimately victorious in the latter category, while also being highly commended in Family and Child Law at the awards, which were held in Glasgow on Friday, 15 November.
Judges praised Gilson Gray’s Litigation team for their work, stating: “Gilson Gray’s impressive handling of high-profile public law litigation has earned them Team of the Year.
“They successfully defended the largest ever claims in the Court of Session and played a key role in tax cases before the UK Supreme Court.
“The firm’s growing public law practice and newly established mass litigation service further demonstrates its strong track record and leadership in the field.”
Rosie Walker, partner and head of litigation and dispute resolution, highlighted the team’s accomplishments: “We were delighted to win the Herald Law Awards of Scotland 2024 Litigation Team of the Year.
“This is a well-deserved accolade for our leading litigation team, who have shown a very strong performance over many years.
“From successfully acting for the Lime Rock Group in the highest ever value Scottish litigation to challenging the Scottish Government in the Supreme Court, our team are operating at the very top of the Scottish litigation market.

The family and child law team also received recognition, with head of family law Philippa Cunniff commenting: “We are delighted to have been recognised by the judges.
“Life as a family lawyer can be relentless at times, but we have a fantastic team who give their all to support our clients and achieve positive outcomes.
“This award is a welcome recognition of the work we do.”
In addition, partners Lesley McKnight and Deborah Bonner were finalists in the Women in Law and Rising Star categories at the BWC Athena Awards, held on the same evening in Aberdeen.
