ST ANDREWS Timber and Building Supplies is expanding its offerings by partnering with HSS Hire Group (HSS) to supply tool and equipment hire into Edinburgh and surrounding areas.
This is the latest move for the Edinburgh headquartered firm which has recently been shortlisted for Sustainable and Environmental Initiative of the Year and Builders’ Merchant of the Year (1-5 branches) at the upcoming Builders’ Merchants Awards 2024.
The first location for this expansion is a dedicated HSS counter at the West Lothian base in Livingstone, which is open to both the trade and public, six days a week.
The equipment will be stored at the firm’s Livingstone premises where customers can collect everything from mini diggers, cement mixers, power tools and dehumidifiers.
If bigger plant options are not available on site, they will be delivered to customers within a day.
If this new expansion works well, St Andrews Timber and Building will be looking to further expand this service to its Edinburgh headquarters in Prestonfield in the new year.
Kerrie Ferguson St Andrews Timber & Building Supplies operations director said: “With customers now able to buy materials from us and then hire the plant and equipment from HSS under the same roof, it makes their journey so much smoother with a fully rounded service from start to finish.
“Given the outdoor space available at our Livingston branch, and its expanded landscaping department, it made perfect sense to launch this arrangement there.
“It is a further step towards our ultimate goal of being a true one-stop shop.”
