A DOPEY bloke nearly blew himself up after trying to se off a firework only for the rocket to explode in his bare hand.
The man was filmed trying to launch a rocket into the air on a London street with his pals watching on.
Seemingly boasting little common sense though, the man lit the pyrotechnic in his hand and held it aloft – only for the stunt to literally backfire and blow up in his face.
Video shows the Brit lighting the firework and holding it up into the air, aiming it away from him and his group of pals.
The rocket’s fuse burns down rapidly as the dopey man continues to hold it, not putting the dangerous explosive down.
It then begins to shoot a stream of sparks back towards him as the fuse eventually burns down to nothing.
His friends scream and run away from the sparking rocket, displaying at least a little more sense than the man as he continues to hold the explosive.
Now standing alone, abandoned by his friends, he turns to look at the camera right as the firework explodes.
Bursting with a loud bang and a bright flash, the pyrotechnic blows up in the man’s face while he continues to clutch it.
The dopey bloke is left to weather the explosion alone with his smarter friends clearing the area just before the explosive goes off.
The footage ends with the man engulfed in bright light and smoke after his friends shouted at him to “let go”.
The video of the stupid stunt was shared to social media yesterday with simply a group of emojis as the caption.
The footage has since received over 1,100 likes and more than 160 comments from social media users calling the man out for his stupidity.

Another commented: “That was so funny. Hope he survived the blast.”
A fifth replied: “I hope that they are alright, but this is incredibly reckless, selfish and downright dangerous. People messing about with fireworks really wind me up.
“If I was walking past, I’d be giving them a piece of my mind.”
