Scotland Food & Drink appoints new directors to drive growth

EDINBURGH based company Scotland Food & Drink has announced the appointment of Stuart McCallum and John Dalley as non-executive directors.

Scotland Food & Drink has announced the appointment with the hope that the duo will play a central role in helping the company grow in the industry.

Stuart joins the company, having previously served as the national head of food and drink at RSM. Likewise, John has over 25 years of boardroom experience in Scottish food and drink companies.

On the appointment, chief executive Iain Baxter said: “It’s important that we bring expertise from across both the food and drink sector and other industries to help deliver our strategy of Sustaining Scotland, Supplying the World.

“Both Stuart and John come with a huge amount of sector and professional experience that will be an asset to our board.”

John Dalley has worked for various companies in the Food and Drink industry

Along with their experience in the food and drink industry, both have a background in finance with expertise specifically in accounting, which is expected to play a pivotal part in their new roles.

Discussing how their background in finance will help the company, the chair of Scotland Food & Drink, Lucinda Bruce-Gardyne, said: “The board are looking forward to working with Stuart and John, both of whom bring strong finance, sector experience and passion for the industry to the table.

“Their counsel will be invaluable as Scotland Food & Drink continues its journey to foster resilient and sustainable growth across the industry.”

Their appointments come as a replacement for Susie McIntyre, whose previous board member tenure came to an end.
