Bloke ends up on receiving end of explosive rant from MMA fighter Darren Till after 4am phone call asking for fundraising support

A MAN who called MMA fighter Darren Till in the middle of the night asking for support for his charity boxing match found himself on the receiving end of an explosive rant.

Jake Goudie, who organised the fundraiser for Diabetes UK, reached out to Till on Monday in an attempt to get him to share or donate to his JustGiving page.

Having found a number believed to belong to the fighter, Jake contacted him at 4am, which the 31-year-old responded to a few hours later, clearly unimpressed.

He initially posted Jake’s mobile number to social media before sending a slew of angry messages calling him out for his “disrespectful” behaviour.

Although Jake was quick to hit back in return, he has since posted an apology for his actions and admitted he deserved the negative response he received on social media.

Till initially responded to Jake to warn him off, telling him, “Don’t start crying when it comes back to bite you in the a**”.

He said: “Don’t mess with the big dog because look what’s happened to you.”

Jake apologised for the timing of his call and explained his fundraiser, adding: “I’m in Liverpool in two weeks, I can show up to Rotunda if I have to and we’ll see who the f***ing big dog is.”

Till angrily schooled Jake for using his personal number and not reaching out via social media or his management, telling him he wouldn’t be helping him.

Jake taunted Till by threatening to publicise the fact he wouldn’t be donating, saying he was a big fan trying to “make good out of a bad situation”.

Till exploded in response: “Mate I gave you the chance to not text or message me again.

“This is my personal number, you do not have the authority to text me. This is my personal number for friends and family.

“You’re not even texting me, [you’re] calling me at four in the morning waking me up. It’s the most disrespectful thing ever. So yes.

“You’re full of s**t and your fundraiser is full of s**t and I couldn’t give a s**t, so take your violin and your sob story and post all of this to Twitter because I couldn’t give a rat’s a** about you or anyone else you fat divvy (sic).

“How’s that? Got the message? Now you’re getting blocked because you’re a donut.”

However he kept going, causing Till to snap. (C) @JakeSGoudie/X

Jake shared screenshots of the messages to social media on Monday with the caption: “I’m not one for calling people out.

“But I left Darren Till a voicemail [in the] early hours of this morning asking if he would support my fundraiser, expecting an answer later in the day.

“The man child Till decided he wanted to take a hissy and post my phone number out on Twitter.

“The post of my phone number was up for about an hour before Till realised he had to delete it.

“I tried to be nice and respectful to him considering this was all started because of a charity fundraiser but I guess Darren doesn’t like charity.

“Later in the day I asked him if I could make a fun Twitter post poking fun at him.

“I did FaceTime him just so he saw the message (smart thinking) and then the grown man sent a paragraph just being verbally abusive towards me.

“Earlier, he rang me with homophobic, racist comments for no reason. That call also featured him saying that if I contact him again, he will come round and stab my mother.

“This man should not be platformed by Misfits Boxing, Jake Paul or UFC.”

The post has since received over 980 likes and more than 490 comments from Brits keen to share their opinions, many being critical of Jake’s actions.

One wrote: “Why on earth would you ring anyone at 4am to ask if they’ll promote a fundraiser of someone they don’t know.

“You were trying to probe a reaction otherwise why would you continue to keep calling him after he’s asked you not to.

“Maybe an overreaction on his part but don’t play the victim when you were wanting this sort of reaction.”

Another said: “Personally think he has every right to be upset, you called him at 4am.

“I get you say you had been making calls to others however it’s just common decency, a message would have been enough.”

A third commented: “Sorry but you’re the man child in this situation.

“At this point you’re harassing the dude and actually want to act tough and challenge him because he pointed out you went about that possibly the worst way possible?

“Okay guy. Trying to guilt trip because it’s some random fundraiser.”

Another wrote: “No he shouldn’t have done that, but what you did is absurd. Please never do that again. There are other ways to ask for help with these things.”

A fifth quipped: “I can’t believe Darren’s behaviour here. He should be far more accommodating to total strangers who call his personal line at 4am.”

In response, Jake posted an apology to social media yesterday, which read: “Recently, I started an uncalled-for beef with Darren Till, and after much reflection I’ve realised how stupid and immature I was in dealing with this entire situation.

“Calling Darren at 4am asking for support in my fundraiser was idiotic and screamed entitlement.

“I was ignorant to the fact that just because I was awake at that time, others would be asleep and get ignored by the phone call.

“And I will approach others differently in the future.

“All my other outraged messages and any form of communication with Darren were purely because of the way he handled that phone call.

“I do still believe posting my phone number to 458k people was [not] the way to go but nobody is perfect and I should have privately and respectfully messaged and asked him to take it down and left him alone, however I was petty and annoyed him further which was uncalled for.

“All the comments I’ve got on Twitter were all warranted, and I thank everyone for helping to enlighten me on where I went wrong. So Darren, I’m sorry.”
