EDINBURGH based all-trades insurance firm Insurepair is helping to combat climate change with the addition of a new electric car to their fleet.
Insurepair, based in Morningside following their recent move from Abbeyhill, have introduced their first electric car, in an effort to become more sustainable.
The Smart EQ Fortwo can do 80 miles in one charge and the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in 40 minutes at a commercial charging point, making it a perfect car for frequent city driving.
Insurepair works across Scotland throughout Fife, the central belt and The Scottish Borders, operating more than 20 vehicles in order to meet client needs.
This high number of vehicles and distances means they clock up thousands of miles per year, so adding this electric car is a huge step in a sustainable direction.
Following on from the introduction of the Smart EQ Fortwo, Insurepair are looking to phase in more electric cars and vans in the next 12 months.
Managing director Richard O’Donnell said: “We have our business plan in place, have set our targets and ambitions for 2025 and as part of that we’re aiming to roll out more electric vehicles across the fleet”
“We are constantly reviewing our practices as we strive to reduce the impact on the environment as it is something that has to be taken very seriously.”
