Sons – Hair Loss in Disguise: How Some Men Try to Hide Their Hair Loss

Male pattern hair loss happens to a large percentage of the population, so you’re not alone if it’s happening to you. However, how some men react to noticing hair loss varies.

We want to look at the best ways to style your hair if you’re experiencing hair loss and review a few examples that, to put it kindly, aren’t fooling anyone.

How Not to Hide Your Hair Loss

The Combover: The very fact that you’re experiencing hair loss means your hair is likely much thinner than before and would’ve probably started at the crown or temples. Therefore, unfortunately, growing long side hair and brushing it over your crown will reveal too much of your scalp.

Hats: Granted, they’ll cover your head, but this isn’t a long-term solution. You can’t always be expected to wear a hat, can you? If the hair loss you’re experiencing is mild, it’s better to let oxygen reach the scalp to give the hair follicles what they need.

Hairpieces/Wigs: A toupee is somewhat outdated. Although hairpieces look better now than they used to, they come with unique problems, like being tangled and risk coming off or the wind taking them away. Again, your scalp needs to breathe, so don’t use a wig; own the hair loss instead.

Better Approaches to Styling During Hair Loss

Experienced Barbers: Visiting a top-quality barber makes sense because they will advise you on how to style your hair from home and cut it perfectly so your thinning hair or loss doesn’t look as prominent as before.

Consider a Beard: Bald men with beards can look very stylish, but even if your hair isn’t completely gone, you’re attracting attention towards your beard rather than your head, assuming you care for your beard and maintain it well with Beard Oil.

Restrict Styling Products: Our hair follicles need oxygen to produce thick and healthy strands, so clogging up the hair follicles is far from ideal. Styling products can contain harmful chemicals that can pull and aggravate hair follicles; reduce how often you use gels or sprays.

The Best Method

Every other option is either short-term or not worth considering. Here are prescribed medications that work in over 80% of men.

Finasteride: Finasteride is a proven way to stop DHT from harming your hair follicles by halting its conversion from testosterone, leaving your hair in a much better condition by taking this oral tablet.

Minoxidil: Similarly, Minoxidil is topically applied to increase the blood flow and oxygen levels your scalp’s blood vessels receive, increasing the duration of your hair’s growth period.

Thankfully, there are plenty of hair loss plans and supplements to consider if this concerns you.
