RUSSELL Brand is now selling “magic amulets” to protect wearers from Wi-Fi and other “evil energies” found in airports.
The disgraced comedian has recently remade himself as something of a far-right Christian influencer but has been branded a “grifter” online for his latest stunt, which sees him advertising the amulets for a whopping $239.99.
The 49-year-old faced a slew of accusations of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse following a Sunday Times and Channel 4 investigation, but is now the face of the Airestech product, which claims to shield the user from “electromagnetic fields”.
In a video advertisement, Brand can be seen walking through a garden with a yellow suitcase in hand, where he bizarrely rambles: “Hello, I’m just back from Narnia where I had a holiday, Mr Tumnus, Aslan, all those guys.”
Continuing the weird pitch as dramatic music swells in the background, Brand claims: “As you know, airports are places full of Wi-Fi and all sorts of evil energies.
“Think of all the phones out there, all of the signals, corruptible and corrupting.”
Brand then holds aloft the small necklace he is wearing and says: “Luckily I wear this magical amulet from Airestech that keeps me safe from all of the various signals out there.”
Brand then lifts his suitcase straight up above his head as he carries it, saying: “Look at this, look how strong I am. I think this is making me more powerful as a matter of fact, look at that.”
The former MTV star then oddly claims: “This stuff is absolutely packed with Airestech, I didn’t even bring any socks or toothbrush or dog meats or anything like that, just completely full of Airestech.
“You should get one as well, particularly if you’re planning to go to an airport anytime soon because the bloody things are full of lethal signals.”
In one final advert for the dubious neckwear, he concludes: “Airestech, a glorious amulet to protect you from corrupting signals.”
Footage of Brand’s pitch to the public appears to have been removed from social media but was rediscovered and shared yesterday.
The post was captioned: “Russell Brand, remade as a right-wing Christian influencer, is now selling a ‘magical amulet’ that protects you from Wi-Fi signals and other ‘evil energies’.
“Only $239.99 per amulet.”
It has since received over 7,100 likes and more than 1,000 comments from social media users mocking the disgraced celeb.
One user wrote: “I’ll buy whatever will protect me from having to see him in a low-neck tee again.”
Another added: “Grifters going to grift.”
A third replied: “Got his bags packed for when the FBI comes knocking again.”
Another commented: “Is this real? I know he has brain damage, but this is a new low.”
A fifth said: “Filmed with a phone connected to Wi-Fi.”
