WATCH the unbelievable moment a flatbed lorry attempts to reverse onto a main road but is repeatedly blocked by impatient drivers pulling dangerous manoeuvres at every angle.
The incident on Uxbridge Road in Ealing, West London yesterday afternoon was captured by an onlooker, seemingly from the top deck of a bus.
As the lorry slowly backs out of the side street, drivers, motorcyclists and pedestrians on the main road just can’t wait and try to squeeze around it using any means possible.
One motorcyclist zooms up the wrong side of the road to avoid it, and another driver cuts straight across the pavement.
The traffic was busier than usual with it being the end of the school day.
The footage almost resembles a hazard perception clip from a driving theory test with how the incident plays out.
The long flatbed slowly starts reversing out and turning, with a queue of traffic seemingly stopped to let it out at first.
However, the driver of the white Audi at the front decides they don’t want to wait any longer, and inches around the back with another car right behind.
Ironically, a traffic warden appears as the lorry is forced to stop, but seemingly pays no attention to the situation.
Two pedestrians then cross the side street right in front of the lorry, inches away from the front of the cab.
Meanwhile, the Audi wants to turn into the side street, but has its route still partly blocked by the lorry.
Without hesitating, the driver mounts the pavement and squeezes through the gap just as a man appears as if wanting to cross the road.
At the same time, an L-plated motorbike zooms up the wrong side of the road behind the lorry, having a near miss with a waiting car behind.
As the lorry tries to move again, another delivery motorbike appears from the other direction and skirts around the back, narrowly avoiding being hit.
The driver of the flatbed throws his arms up in frustration at his fellow road users as the motorbike passes him.
After having to stop again, the flatbed finally completes its manoeuvre and moves off, just as yet another bike appears and slowly moves around it.
The footage was shared to social media yesterday with the caption: “Uxbridge Road W13. 15:15hrs. School home time.
“How many things can you see that are of concern in this clip?”
It has since received a slew of likes and comments from unimpressed Brits sharing their thoughts.
One said: “This is like a staged scenario of just about every stupid thing you can do on a public highway in one easy to digest horror show. Mental.”
A second commented: “The white Audi driver almost got it correct, if he’s just moved forward to give the flat bed more space that’s fine but he went full f**k you over the curb.
“It’s the idiot behind him and the moped after.”
Another wrote: “Lorry driver very aware of his situation and reacting properly and a lot of idiots making it far more dangerous than it needs to be.”
A fourth said: “Yes, the amount of s***e drivers that seem entitled. Let the b****y truck reverse.”
