WATCH as a delivery driver returns to his van to find two brazen masked thieves raiding it and stealing parcels in broad daylight.
The bloke was making deliveries in Beckenham, Kent on Sunday when he came across the duo rifling through the back of the van.
The duo – who appeared to be talking in a foreign language – remained unfazed by the driver’s presence or his threats to call the police, eventually hopping into a getaway car and taking off down the street with a bag full of parcels in hand.
Footage from the driver shows the moment he confronts the thieves, after clocking his van door opened and parcels spilling onto the pavement.
A man wearing a hat and face mask can be seen reaching in, holding a large grey sack.
The driver repeatedly shouts, “call the police”, but this fails to deter him, and he carries on chucking packages into the bag, talking in an unidentified language all the while.
He calls him a “f***ing w****r” before checking the other side of his van, possibly looking for an accomplice.
He runs back along the road, shouting to an unseen witness: “Call the police, they’re robbing me.”
By the time he comes back, the bloke has stopped, and the driver repeats his threat of calling the police.
The thief speaks again in a foreign language, sounding worried.
Suddenly a box flies out of the van door, closely followed by another masked man.
Clutching their loot, the pair beat a hasty retreat, jumping into the back of a black Volkswagen parked across the road, which races off down the road as the filming driver recites the vehicle make.
The video was shared to social media on Sunday with the caption: “All in a day’s work.”
It has since received over 1,700 likes and more than 220 comments from staggered social media users.
One wrote: “I can’t believe you just let them do it, I’d have been straight over to them.”
A second commented: “He’s got two in his van plus some in the car, the packages aren’t his, they are to be delivered, why should he put his life on the line.
“If it were his tools, may have a different view on it.”
Another agreed: “Finally a reasonable driver. Those packages are insured, life is priceless lads.”
A fourth said: “Jump in the van and drive off with them in it if need be.”
Another added: “Most robbers and thieves might talk big, but they are thieves for a reason, they are cowards who don’t want confrontation, trying to steal when no-one is there.
“If directly confronted they run off.”
