BTO Solicitors LLP has announced the appointment of Ramsay Hall as a partner within its regulatory and criminal defence team.
The team, which was voted crime firm of the year in 2023 and is nominated again for 2024, will now benefit from Hall’s expertise in white-collar crime and regulatory matters.
He joins fellow partners Vikki Watt, Alasdair Gillies, and Lindsay MacNeill, significantly enhancing the team’s already market-leading capabilities.
Hall’s arrival strengthens the team further, following the recent return of associate Neil Macdonald and the recruitment of solicitor Stacey Fox.
His extensive experience in anti-bribery, corruption, fraud, and tax evasion will provide critical support for the firm’s growing portfolio of high-profile cases.
Grant Hunter, managing partner, said: “Ramsay’s ability to guide UK and international clients through complex investigations, especially in high-profile matters, will prove invaluable.
“His work in developing robust compliance frameworks will not only protect our existing clients but also attract new ones.”
Vikki Watt, head of the regulatory & criminal defence team, highlighted Hall’s reputation in the legal market.
She said: “Ramsay is highly respected for his strategic thinking and direct approach, qualities recognised by Chambers UK and The Legal 500.
“His addition reflects our ongoing commitment to attract top-tier talent to serve our clients’ needs.”
Expressing his enthusiasm, Hall said: “I am delighted to join BTO.
“At a time of significant legal, political, and economic change, organisations are more likely than ever to require regulatory support.
“I look forward to contributing to the firm’s continued growth by helping clients manage risk and protect their reputations.”
