SCOTS witnessed a bizarre impromptu wrestling match unfold on a Glasgow street as two costumed “lunatics” put on a show.
The wrestling match played out on Duke Street yesterday with two fully costumed performers acting out the street fight.
The scrap was watched by drivers and pedestrians alike as the two baffling blokes duked it out with the use of a shopping trolley and a public bin.
Video filmed by the passenger of a passing van shows the pair wrestling next to a bin – with all the hammed-up acting of professional wrestling included – as one man lies on the floor acting injured as the other prowls around him.
Members of the public watch on and film on their phones as the standing man, dressed in tight black shorts and a red top, grabs the floored combatant by the head.
He then lifts his opponent into a shopping trolley and ‘punches’ him in the head several times as the watching passenger comments: “No danger.”
Taking the trolley and the man inside down the street some way, the winning wrestler then rushes towards the bin, pushing the trolley in front of him as he yells: “Yeehaw.”
He rams the trolley and the wrestler into the bin, causing it to be shunted along the street a little.
The wrestler in the trolley is rattled from side to side by the impact and throws his hands in the air as the cart topples and he’s sent sprawling to the ground, much to the amusement of witnesses.
Video of the impromptu street fight was shared to social media yesterday with the caption: “Just a normal day in Glesga (sic).”
The footage has since received a slew of likes and comments from baffled Scots who were divided over the daft display.
One user wrote: “I don’t know I think it’s kind of fun.”
Another said: “Amateurs. Come to Arden on Friday night to see some real wrestling.”
A third added: “Social media has made complete lunatics of people.
“A fat man in wee hotpants, his accomplice in a shopping trolley and a bin, all for your viewing pleasure. Bampots.”
Another replied: “They may be bampots, but I can assure you wrestling has been around for longer than social media.”
A fifth commented: “I hope this wasn’t an attempted insurance fraud.”
