‘I wonder what cereal pack they get their licence from’ – Local resident’s fury at poorly parked delivery vans blocking road

A LOCAL resident has hit out at delivery company DPD after becoming infuriated by the bad parking of drivers on his residential street.

The resident of Ealing, East London, was left enraged by a badly parked DPD van that stuck out onto the road making it inaccessible for other motorists.

Sharing images and videos of other poorly parked vehicles on the residential street he hit out at the drivers, awarding DPD the tongue in cheek ‘worst parking of the day award.’

The East London local discovered the poorly parked delivery van yesterday and took to social media to vent his fury.

The resident was left furious with the delivery drivers.
The resident was left furious with the delivery drivers.

A video of the van shows the vehicles front wheel on the pavement with its back end sticking out into the road.

The white vehicle, branded with the DPD logo is left awkwardly jammed in between two parked cars.

It juts out into the road and creates an obstruction for other drivers, infuriating the residents of the street.

While recording the vehicle the local walks around both sides and the back of the van providing full view of the horrendous parking.

Other videos and images of delivery vehicles badly parked on the same street show DPD vans parked on pavements, yellow lines and blocking emergency access gates.

One van is filmed parked directly in front of a gate connecting two roads that sports a large red sign reading: “Emergency access do not obstruct.”

Apparently choosing to ignore the bold lettering the delivery driver parked his massive van in front of the gate regardless.

Sharing images and video of the shocking parking by DPD drivers to social media yesterday the local resident expressed his frustration.

His post awarding DPD the sarcastic parking award is captioned: “And the worst parking of the day award goes to DPD.”

It has since received a slew of likes and comments from social media users who were divided on the issue.

One user said: “I see delivery drivers ‘park’ across my driveway at least 3 times a week but I know they’ll be gone within a couple of minutes because that’s the nature of their job.

“So cut them some slack”

Another wrote: “It isn’t good, but the driver hasn’t blocked the road.  They’re likely to be a few minutes making a delivery and then off.

“Those vans can be difficult to manoeuvre and park.  I’m happy to give this a little slack.”

A third replied: “They like to pull out right in front of you and overtake and pull left in front of you, I wonder what cereal pack they get their licence from.”

Another commented: “You must have had the same driver I did a few weeks ago, almost parked in the front gate.”

A fifth added: “The driver probably has to urinate in plastic bottles just to keep up. How about you give them a break for 30 seconds.”
