Scottish software solutions firm celebrates return ten years in the making

Eureka Solutions recently welcomed the return of Fiona Hartley, who has been appointed Head of Marketing.

Originally from Queenzieburn, North Lanarkshire and now living in Cumbernauld with her husband and two children, Fiona began her journey with Eureka Solutions in 2011 as a Graphic Designer and Marketing Assistant.

After two years, Fiona departed to clinical trial software firm Formedix where she assisted in selling software into North America.

With experience at two other software companies, Fiona was drawn back through her belief in its core values of technical expertise and outstanding customer service, something that hadn’t changed in the decade since her departure.

Fiona said: “Knowing how strongly the business believes in its own culture is important to me. There are so many opportunities for growth and for the team to progress internally. That made a huge impact on my decision to come back.

“Although the office setting and some of the people have changed, the core principles and values that Eureka Solutions were founded on have stayed the same, putting people first – both customers and the internal team.”

Based in East Kilbride, Eureka Solutions is now one of the UK’s leading software solutions specialists and is recognised by global giants Oracle NetSuite and Sage as among its most important partners in Europe. They have also recently started working with up-and-coming cloud accounting software, iplicit.

Its focus on customer intimacy is what separates Eureka Solutions apart from other businesses, through being able to create meaningful relationships and a tailored approach to the solutions it provides.

The firm has been recognised for its outstanding customer service and long-term commitment to customers, some of whom have been with the company since it was established 2004.

Fiona now oversees the communications and marketing team, which has doubled in size with the addition of four team members in the last few months.

Fiona added: “We listen to our customers, we listen to their challenges, their successes, what day-to-day life is like for them and understand how we can work together to improve that.

“It’s about finding the right software solution for a business and then adapting it for each one’s specific growth goals and requirements.”

Believing the business’ investment in emerging talent is what helps to drive them forward, a new aspect of her role sees Fiona play a part in the coaching and development of the marketing team.

Fiona added: “Some of the team are in the early stages of their career, so having the opportunity to coach them through their learning and development is a huge privilege.”

Looking forward, Fiona hopes to drive growth through a strategic marketing approach together with team training and development to ensure each team member fulfils the founding principle of ‘Technical Expertise’. The ultimate goal is putting Eureka Solutions at the front of business’ minds when thinking about changing or updating business solutions.

David Lindores, CEO of Eureka Solutions, said: “Fiona brings with her an immense amount of talent and her return after building her career elsewhere speaks volumes about our company’s enduring values and the strong relationships we build.

“She has a wealth of experience from other software companies, which will be invaluable as we continue to grow. Her expertise in marketing, combined with her deep understanding of our culture and commitment to customer service, positions us perfectly for the future.

“Fiona’s leadership in reshaping our marketing strategies and developing our team will be crucial as we strive to become the go-to name for business solutions.”

Eureka Solutions first made its name implementing tailored finance systems for diverse businesses. Since 2012, it has designed and delivered highly customised versions of Oracle NetSuite for major businesses across retail, sport, biotechnology, wholesale, logistics and many other sectors. Its clients include Loganair, Kelvin Power Tools, Barrhead Travel, and Western Ferries.
