FEMALE hires are leading a Scots manufacturing institute’s appointments as it looks to bolster its senior management team.
The National Manufacturing Institute Scotland (NMIS) has named Siobhan Campbell and Coreen McCubbin join as chief strategy and commercial office (CSCO) and chief technology officer (CTO), respectively.
The pair bring a combined 50-plus years of manufacturing, engineering and scientific industry experience to the organisation.
NMIS, which aims to develop manufacturing innovation in Scotland, is operated by the University of Strathclyde and is part of the High Value Manufacturing (HVM) Catapult.
Siobhan joins from the UK arm of global engineering consultancy WSP and has previously held roles at the Department of Energy and Climate Change and as deputy chief scientific advisor at the Department of Transport.
Siobhan will lead the commercial activities across the NMIS group, engaging extensively with industrial partners and members to attempt to accelerate productivity across manufacturing.
Coreen has previously held senior leadership roles at Spirit AeroSystems and BAE systems and was most recently consulting globally at Leading Edge Strategy Consulting.
She has worked on a range of high-profile technology development and implementation projects for the aerospace sector.
As CTO, Coreen will aim to direct the development and delivery of NMIS’s strategic research programmes, trying to ensure its centres are at the forefront of manufacturing innovation.
