Terrifying moment allegedly drunk driver tears round corner and ploughs straight into taxi

WATCH the terrifying moment an allegedly drunk driver tears round a corner and ploughs head-on into a taxi.

The taxi’s dashcam caught the entire incident as the supposedly intoxicated motorist came flying round a blind corner and into oncoming traffic in the affluent London neighbourhood of Kensington.

The hapless taxi driver barely had enough time to register the car bearing down on their motor before it barrelled into the bonnet in a sickening smash.

Dashcam footage shows the filming motor following another taxi up a hill, surrounded by other traffic, when a pair of headlights appear at the corner.

The smash left both cars totaled.
The smash left both cars totaled.

A silver Ford MPV comes flying into view, forcing the taxi in front to swerve suddenly to the left to avoid the oncoming motorist.

The car recording the incident also tries in vain to swerve but is too late.

The oncoming silver car smashes into the front of the car with the dashcam, causing the airbag to explode from the dashboard and comes to a stop, smoke pouring from the engine bay of one of the vehicles.

The two vehicles sit in the road still as members of the public and other motorists begin to show up and offer assistance to the drivers.

Video of the aftermath with police on scene shows the two cars in the middle of the road where they collided.

With doors on both vehicles open, it appears passengers and drivers were quickly moved away from the scene.

The Ford’s airbags have been deployed and can be seen protruding from the driver’s side of the car, deflated.

The video of the collision was shared to social media yesterday with the caption: “A drunk driver crashes into oncoming traffic in Kensington, West London.”

The footage has since received dozens of likes and comments from shocked social media users.

One user said: “Went past that just after it happened, hope drivers’ okay, hard impact. Nothing left of the front of [the Mercedes] Vito.”

Another wrote: “I drive that blind corner of Church St, Kensington daily. It is terrifying at the best of times.”

A third replied: “Without the video, insurance company probably [would] call it 50:50.”

Another commented: “This should be automatically (sic) a prison sentence.”

A fifth added: “Idiot.”
