Furious woman – armed with a shoe – attacks police officer in bid to disrupt bloke’s arrest

WATCH the moment a furious woman attacks a police officer with her shoe in an apparent attempt to disrupt the arrest of a young man.

The incident unfolded on Sunday in Blanchardstown Shopping Centre in Blanchardstown, Dublin, after a man was placed under arrest by Garda officers.

A woman then duly inserted herself into the situation as the man struggled with the Gardaí, striking one of the officers and brandishing her own footwear as a weapon.

Video filmed by a bystander shows the woman and the officer arguing while the man in handcuffs is restrained on the Gardaí car bonnet.

The woman punched a police officer in the face.
The woman punched a police officer in the face.

The woman appears to try and remove the handcuffs, fighting with the officer as both of them tug on the handcuffed wrists of the arrested man.

This elicits a scream from the man in custody which then prompts the woman to strike the officer in the face.

Fighting back, the policeman pushes the woman away from him, holding his hands up to defend himself as she continues to come at him.

The fight escalates as two other men come rushing over to assist the officer, one of them grabbing the bloke in handcuffs which again causes him to scream in pain.

Now freed from the responsibility of restraining the man in custody the officer and his colleague begin restraining the woman.

One of them can be heard shouting, “You’re under arrest” as the pair fight with the woman who removes her shoe to use as a weapon.

Despite this claim, neither Gardaí appear to make a genuine attempt to apprehend their assailant, with one of the pair instead removing pepper spray from his belt and simply shouting: “Get back.”

He gives her a hard shove and she falls to the ground, quickly regaining her feet and throwing one of her shoes at the officer.

She then walks off finally deterred by the threat of pepper spray and the officer kicks her shoe back at her along the ground.

She picks it up and throws it again at the officers as two more Gardaí show up to assist, rushing the woman and taking her into custody.

The footage was shared to social media on Sunday with a simple embarrassed face emoji as the caption.

It has since received over 2,600 likes and more than 500 comments from social media users.

One user said: “She’s giving out real justice to that guy whilst the police want to arrest him.”

Another wrote: “Irish guards are by far the worst, most useless force in Europe. Absolute wellies.”

A third replied: “Why did it take them so long to arrest her?”

Another commented: “How long does it take to arrest someone assaulting a police officer?”

A fifth added: “Woman armed with a shoe has intense standoff with two male police officers.”
