Brits slam council with snap showing rubbish-laden streets increasingly resembling a “Walking Dead set”

BRITS have slammed their local council after a snap surfaced showing rubbish-laden streets increasingly resembling a “Walking Dead set”.

Nottingham residents have taken up arms after one local shared a snap of one street yesterday, which was littered with disgusting piles of rubbish

Questions have been raised as to where the city’s bin men are with uncollected bins now overflowing onto the streets.

Locals have been left furious and frustrated by the state of affairs and took to social media to raise the issue.

An image of a residential street in the Hyson Green area of the city shows the full extent of the problem.

The street was likened to a scene from post-apocalyptic zombie series The Walking Dead, with streets covered in discarded rubbish leaving the road looking ruined and filthy.

The picture shows dozens of bins left unemptied, overflowing onto the street with their lids open and rubbish pouring out.

A thin layer of rubbish and discarded litter covers the pavement around the bins, spilling onto the road in some places.

A skip can be seen in the background of the photo, likewise overflowing onto the road and pavement.

The shocking snap was shared to social media yesterday with the caption: “The city looks more like a Walking Dead set piece every day.

“It’s honestly disgusting how much rubbish is just lying around. Did the council lay off the litter crews during the current financial struggles? Sure feels like it.”

The post has since received over 540 likes and more than 160 comments from fellow disgusted Nottingham locals.

One user said: “There’s actually rubbish caked into the pavement in some parts – not even the street cleaners can get it off.”

Another wrote: “This must be Hyson Green aka wheelie bin city.”

A third replied: “Rats galore soon.”

Another commented: “Who would have thought that cutting services to the absolute bone right across the board for over a decade would be a good thing? We are our worst enemy.”

A fifth added: “City is beautiful. People are shocking.”
