German navy hilariously sails through heart of London blasting Star Wars’ evil Imperial March tune

A GERMAN navy ship hilariously sailed through the heart of London blasting Star Wars’ evil Imperial March tune as it went.

The military vessel was spotted near Tower Bridge on the River Thames yesterday morning, with the crew lining its deck.

Blasting the song, which is commonly associated with the entrance of sci-fi baddie Darth Vader into any scene in the movies, the Germans left a smile on locals’ faces as their vessel made for open water.

Video footage of the ship was captured by dozens of residents as it made quite the impression on Londoners across the city.

The battleship was towed along the river by a smaller civilian vessel.

The ship can be seen being towed by a smaller vessel along the Thames passing Butler’s Wharf in Central London.

Flying the German flag and with the crew lined up standing to attention on the deck in uniform, the vessel cut an imposing figure as it glided along the Thames.

The music added to the navy’s presence, being seen and heard from miles away all along its journey to the sea.

Dozens of Londoners stopped on the banks of the Thames to watch the warship pass by.

Video footage of the ship was shared to social media yesterday with the caption: “Germany navy ship blasts Imperial March out in the Thames.

“Just saw this and couldn’t stop laughing.”

The video has since received over 9,300 likes and more than 570 comments from social media users.

One user said: “That explains why I heard the Star Wars music this morning.”

Another wrote: “It’s made even funnier that they’re having to be tugged out backwards.”

A third added: “Brilliant. I’m glad our relationship has improved a little bit over the years.”

Another commented: “Wow, and I always thought Germans didn’t have a sense of humour. Bravo.”

A fifth replied: “Well played, Germany. Didn’t know you had it in you.”
