Success for Eureka Solutions as it marks two decades of growth and success
A SCOTTISH tech success story is marking 20 years in business, a milestone that has seen it grow from three to 70+ staff with an impressive list of blue-chip clients and a turnover approaching £6m.
Eureka Solutions is now one of the UK’s leading providers of business software solutions, delivering bespoke implementations of accounting/ERP systems from industry giants Oracle NetSuite, Sage and iplicit, as well as being developers in their own right with their integration product, Besyncly.
By focusing on its core principles of technical expertise and outstanding customer service, the company has solidified its position as a leader in the accounting software sector, with over 1,000 clients plus several thousand support contracts.
David Lindores, CEO of Eureka Solutions, said: “Every day our talented team comes up with new and innovative methods to help our clients do business more efficiently. No two clients, no two days and no two solutions are the same; we never stop developing creative solutions for our clients – whether they’re football clubs, airlines or health tech specialists.
“I can’t praise the team enough. Reaching 20 years as a business is testament to their continued hard work and inventiveness. That is what has earned the trust our clients place in us.”
From the beginning, the firm’s technical expertise and knowledge has set them apart from competitors, leading to not only customer satisfaction but employee fulfilment, with more than 40% of its staff being with Eureka Solutions for over five years.
Every year, the company introduces new graduates to the team, with a third (33%) of all hires in the past four years coming straight from university. This ethos is evident throughout the business with half of the senior leadership team, including CEO David Lindores, starting as graduates.
David Lindores added: “Our success is rooted in technical expertise and outstanding customer service. Those are the values that have fuelled our growth. However, our strength is also in our people and I’m proud that so many of the team – myself included – started at the firm as graduates.
“Nurturing talent and investing in young people is a vital component of what enables us to continue our relentless focus on delivering the business systems that drive our clients’ businesses.”
Eureka Solutions first made its name implementing tailored finance systems for major businesses across retail, sport, biotechnology, wholesale, logistics and many other sectors through its highly-skilled technical teams.
The company takes a strategic approach to the products it implements, consistently monitoring technical advancements and anticipating its customers’ future requirements to meet their evolving needs. Starting in 2004, it became known for designing and delivering highly customised versions of Sage, and then did the same for Oracle NetSuite from 2012. The company further enhanced its portfolio of solutions with the addition of challenger cloud accounting software brand, iplicit.
Underpinning the majority of these projects is the company’s own integration tool, Besyncly, which connects vital systems across accountancy software, CRMs and ecommerce platforms, such as Shopify, Sage and eBay, allowing them to “talk” to each other.
Founder of Eureka Solutions, Alistair Livingstone, believes the business’ investment in emerging talent and diversifying its vendors is what drives the firm forward.
He said: “When we started out as a Sage Business Partner, we knew we wanted to do more than just resell software – we wanted to truly support growing businesses and identified very early on that our own products would be key to this. One year later, we had created our first integration tool which has been continually developed and is known as Besyncly today.
“As we’ve grown alongside our clients, from mid-market companies to larger enterprises, we’ve carefully chosen partners that align with our vision. Bringing Oracle NetSuite on board in 2012 and more recently iplicit in 2023, has allowed us to build a solid offering for businesses of all sizes and maturity.
“Over the past two decades, we’ve had the privilege of working with businesses across so many different industries. This experience has given us a deep understanding of customer needs. We don’t just implement solutions; we tailor them to fit each business perfectly. Our goal is always to ensure our clients see real value from day one.”
As well as technical expertise, the firm has been recognised for its outstanding customer service and long-term commitment to customers, some of whom have been with the company since it was established in 2004. Their client book includes Loganair, Motor Fuel Group, Millwall Football Club and the St Andrews Links Trust.
While happy to look back over their first 20 years, David acknowledges that it’s the next 20 that really count: “Eureka Solutions will build on the successes we’ve had so far by carrying forward our commitment to our customers and the technical skills of our teams. We’ll continue to invest in our people and our products so we can continue to deliver real value to our customers over the long term.”
