BRITS have been left in stitches after 1990s TV icon Mr Blobby took to the stage at a festival for a bizarre rendition of Oasis classic Wonderwall.
Kate Monroe Groves was at the family-friendly Gloworm Festival in Nottingham on Saturday when the giant character made a cameo appearance.
Performing his take on Oasis’ 1995 hit, Mr Blobby’s version consisted of little more than the words “blob” and “blobby”.
Mr Blobby found fame in 1992 when he appeared alongside Noel Edmonds, pranking celebrities on Saturday night variety show Noel’s House Party.
This was surprisingly not his first outing at Gloworm, with a previous appearance seeing him fighting in a wrestling ring at the 2022 iteration of the festival.
A video shot by Kate shows him sitting on stage, wearing his usual colourful bowtie and pretending to play a spot-patterned guitar matching his pink and yellow skin.
He taps his foot along to the music as the backing track to Wonderwall plays, managing to sing to the beat with only his limited vocabulary of screeching “blob” and “blobby”.
Several children can be seen in the crowd, who might have been left puzzled by the scene, as none of them would have even been alive at the height of his fame.
Nonetheless, a couple of them can be seen dancing along to the music.
Kate shared the clip to social media on Saturday with the caption: “The best headliner you could ever want at a festival.”
It has since received over 227,000 likes and more than 2000 comments from Brits sharing their thoughts on the nostalgic performance.
One wrote: “I’m on about my 16th day of gastroenteritis so I’m not sure if this is really happening or if it’s another hallucination.”
Another said: “Plot twist… Oasis reunite and bring Mr Blobby out.”
Electronics chain Currys responded with: “This needs to be on Spotify.”
Another joked: “A new meaning to Noel’s House Party.”
A fifth commented: “When he sang ‘blobby blobby blob’ it hit me in the feels.”
