A MAN has hit out at festivalgoers after seeing the state that one site in Ireland was left in afterwards.
The bloke, known only as Gareth, shared a video of the site of Electric Picnic in Stradbally, County Laois to social media on Monday.
The footage shows a sea of litter and abandoned tents and belongings strewn across the large field, stretching as far as the eye can see.
However, his scathing accusation of who he believes is to blame has sparked debate online.
Having not even attended the festival, he was quick to bizarrely take aim at people who are in favour of eco-friendly practices such as deposit return schemes or using paper straws.
As the filming car travels alongside the vast site, barely a soul can be seen but the grass is still littered with tents, at various stages of collapsing.
Sleeping bags, personal belongings and an enormous amount of carelessly discarded rubbish covers the spaces between tents, right up to the perimeter fence.
While many social media users were quick to agree with Gareth, others slammed his sweeping judgement of the festival attendees.
Some claim that the clean-up of the site is included in the ticket price.
Gareth shared the clip to social media on Monday with the caption: “The aftermath of Electric Picnic.
“The people who go here are the ones who make you drink from a paper straw and bring cans back to the supermarket.”
It has since received over 2,000 likes and more than 150 comments offering mixed opinions.
One said: “Bit of a wild assumption that all 75,000 people are exactly the same.”
Another commented: “Easily the worst take I’ve seen on here. Session heads in for a mad weekend are not in government buddy.”
A third wrote: “Same every year. Don’t know why they don’t just add the cost of a four-man tent on to every ticket, pitched and taken down by Electric Picnic.
“Less for people to haul in.”
A fourth said: “The same generation that buy rubbish from Shein or Temu that they’ll wear once and throw away.
“The same generation that went through the ‘Green Schools’ schemes – what went wrong?”
Another said: “Throwaway tents, what the f**k, in my day we were hoping they wouldn’t get robbed. The kids these days must be loaded.”
Another wrote: “Nope, not many elected politicians stayed there last weekend. I was there and I hate paper straws too. You need to get out more.”
