Shocking dopey driver cruises down M4 despite ruined tyre being just inches from flying off

A SHOCKING dopey driver was spotted cruising down the M4 despite the fact that their ruined tyre was just inches from flying off.

The reckless motorist was caught on dashcam by a fellow driver yesterday who frantically tried to get their attention after spotting the state of their wheel.

The front right tyre stuck out wildly from the side of the car but somehow remained attached – although the unfazed driver carried on as if nothing was wrong.

An image of an Audi travelling along a motorway, passing an emergency lay-by with a phone and yellow markings on the road. A blue sign is visible ahead. The front-right tyre sticks out from under the wheel arch, and looks as if it may completely detach from the car.

Video from the following car shows the Audi travelling at a fairly swift speed, despite the dangerous front right tyre.

It protrudes from the wheel arch and flaps around, looking perilously close to completely detaching from the car.

The filming driver tries to get the Audi driver’s attention with a long blast of their horn, but with no success.

Despite signs indicating an emergency lay-by ahead, the Audi doesn’t pull over and zooms past it.

Two more beeps of the horn still go unacknowledged, but the driver does stay in the far-left lane and appears to slow down.

However, with no hard shoulder, the driver would have a hard time stopping safely while still on the motorway.

The footage was shared to social media yesterday with the caption: “Bro needs to pull up on the M4 motorway as soon as possible.”

It has since received a host of likes and comments from social media users left stunned and amused by the Audi driver’s antics.

One said: “Stupid driver missed the lay-by.”

A second quipped: “It’ll probably sort itself out.”

Another commented: “He’s just waiting for the tyre to fly off for maximum impact.”

A fourth wrote: “There literally is nowhere to ‘pull up’ though is there, welcome to Smart Motorways.

“He’s not far from the Heathrow junction which has a lay-by next to it so I’d probably do the same.”

Another joked in response: “This is golden. Remember the road is the problem here.”

Another simply replied, “Really?” and cheekily posted a link to the Specsavers website alongside a still from the video showing the lay-by missed by the driver.
