Motorist flips car in horror crash whilst allegedly fleeing undercover police

WATCH the dramatic moment a motorist flips their car in a horror crash whilst allegedly being chased by undercover police.

CCTV footage from a nearby building captured the car plowing into a parked motor on Rowdell Road in Northolt, West London yesterday.

Having hit the car at top speed, the driver’s motor spins out of control and flips over, coming to rest in the middle of the street before what appears to be an unmarked police car pulls up just moments later.

A damaged black car lies on its roof at the side of the road next to a metal fence.
The car was left in a sorry state

The footage from the CCTV camera shows a view of the street, where both traffic and parked cars are visible.

Suddenly, a car driving much faster than the others speeds into view from around a corner, closely pursued by another.

As it reaches the line of parked vehicles, the driver seems to misjudge the gap and suddenly slams right into the car at the front, sending it onto the pavement and forcing a pedestrian to leap out of the way.

The speeding motor swings out into the road before rolling twice and coming to rest on its roof.

Almost immediately, an unmarked police car, blue lights flashing, pulls up at the scene.

Two officers jump out and run over as a figure can be seen crawling from underneath the wreckage of the upside-down car.

The footage was shared to social media yesterday with the caption: “A driver flips their car after hitting the side of a parked car in Northolt, West London.”

It has since received a slew of likes and comments from social media users bizarrely panning both the driver and the police.

One wrote: “Using blue lights doesn’t seem a very good tactic for ‘undercover’ policing.”

Another said: “The fastest police response time I’ve ever seen.”

A third said: “T**t. Thank him upstairs that it was a car that was hit and not a child.”

Another sarcastically commented: “Is that being chased by a police car? Got to be the police’s fault.”

A fifth quipped: “That’s a quality camera.”

Speaking today, a Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “At about 12:25 on Thursday, 1 August officers indicated for a car to stop in Kensington Road, Southall.

“The vehicle failed to stop for police, and a pursuit was authorised.

“Shortly afterwards, the driver collided with three parked cars in Rowdell Road, UB5, and the vehicle flipped onto its roof.

“The driver, aged 19, was detained and was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service with non life-threatening injuries.

“He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of aggravated vehicle taking, failing to stop for police, drug driving, possession of a Class B drug (cannabis), driving otherwise in accordance with a licence and dangerous driving.

“He was taken to a west London police station and was subsequently bailed until a date in late October pending further enquiries.”
