“Gimp suit to the office”: Baroness bizarrely raises question for cabinet office regarding civil servants “wearing fetish clothing in the workplace”

A TORY Baroness has bizarrely raised a question for the Government regarding civil servants’ outfits in the workplace.

Baroness Jenkin of Kennington asked the cabinet office on Thursday about the policy of civil servants “wearing fetish clothing in the workplace.

The 68-year-old is a Conservative member for the House of Lords and has been a life peer since 2011.

It’s unclear what prompted the member of the House of Lords to raise the issue, or even what exactly the “fetish clothing” she refers to is.

The baroness lodged the bizarre question last week.

However, the Baroness’ question still raised a considerable reaction amongst Brits online who found the unconventional query hilarious.

It is due to be answered in nine days’ time as interested parties wait with bated breath.

The question was found by a civil servant trawling the parliamentary business website, where it is made clear that the Baroness’ intention is: “To ask His Majesty’s Government what is their policy on civil servants wearing fetish clothing in the workplace.”

The query was then shared to social media yesterday by the baffled reader, with the caption: “Which one of you wants to wear a gimp suit to the office?”

It has since received over 400 likes and more than 100 comments from social media users cracking jokes about the strange query.

One user joked: “Wait, so I’ll have to stop coming into the Jobcentre in my latex dominatrix suit and beginning each appointment with ‘who’s been a naughty claimant?”

Another wrote: “The Baroness may wish to be aware that a formal, three-piece suit is one of the biggest fetishes out there.”

A third replied: “Who wants to bet this turns out to be about transgender people?”

Another commented: “Trying to frame ‘cross dressing’ as ‘fetish’ perhaps?”

A fifth added: “Really hoping I can find out how acceptable it is for some colleagues to wear ball gags.”
