Shoplifter shockingly empties shelves of Boots store in lawless London before brazenly walking out

A SHOPLIFTER shockingly emptied the shelves of a Boots store in lawless London before brazenly walking out.

The robbery took place in a branch of the health and beauty retails in Woodside Park in Barnet, Greater London yesterday as staff and customers watched on.

The thief, clad in all black and wearing a cap, was filmed by a bystander as he filled his rucksack with items straight from the shelves before making a quick getaway.

Video of the robbery shows the man plucking items from the aisle’s shelves and leaving them bare as he tosses all the goods into his bag.

The shoplifter was caught in the act by a bystander.

He fills his rucksack to the brim with stolen merchandise while several people watch on, leaving him unchallenged other than simple pleas to stop.

The woman recording the footage berates the man as he continues his theft, repeating: “You need to stop, you need to stop.”

The brazen bloke continues to fill his bag with more stolen goods from the shelf before cheekily waving her off, saying: “Yeah, I’m going in a minute.”

The bold thief swipes a couple more random items as the woman repeats her pleas to stop before turning to make his getaway.

Briefly stopping to pick up one item he dropped in haste, the man is met with another shopper who asks, “Please just stop”, but ignores her as he darts off towards the store’s exit.

The footage was shared to social media yesterday with the caption: “Happened in boots in Woodside Park area, shop thief today.

“There was a total of 443,995 offences in year to March 2024, up 30% on previous 12 months, says Office for National Statistics.”

It has since received over 270 likes and more than 60 comments from social media users stunned by the man’s brazen thievery.

One user said: “This is out of control.”

Another wrote: “Why is this becoming normal now? What is wrong with this country?”

A third commented: “If this carries on shops are going to basically have to close the door and become click and collect like during lockdown.”

Another replied: “Since when was theft legalised?”

A fifth added: “Where’s the police? Get them out on the beat.”
