Battle of the clans to spark fun at Upper Springland

Perth community invited to a day of Scottish-themed celebration and activities

A SPIRITED summer celebration is set to ignite Perth as Upper Springland gears up for its annual summer party with a “Battle of the Clans” theme.

Run by Capability Scotland, the event, which is free for all attendees, will be held on Friday, 9th August, from 11am to 3pm in the gardens of its Upper Springland campus.

Scottish-themed food stalls, raffles, games, and children’s activities promise a day of fun and festivity, welcoming the local community to celebrate in true Highland style.

Erin Wilson, Operations Manager at Capability Scotland, said: “Our summer parties are one of our favourite celebrations.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity for us to bring the community together and showcase the vibrant and inclusive spirit that defines our campus.

“This year, we have decided to go with a Battle of the Clans theme to spark some friendly competition.

“From traditional Scottish games and delicious themed food stalls to engaging activities for children, there is something for everyone to enjoy. We invite everyone in the community to join us for what promises to be a memorable day filled with fun, laughter, and a celebration of Scottish heritage.”

Capability Scotland delivers exemplary care, support, and education for disabled children and adults across Scotland.

The Upper Springland campus currently has three registered care homes and offers residential and respite care to 60 adults with physical disabilities and learning disabilities. There is also a day service – as well as a hydrotherapy pool, theatre and walled gardens.

The summer party aims to foster community engagement, allowing residents, staff, and visitors to enjoy a day of leisure and connection, while embracing Scottish culture and tradition.

Upper Springland’s commitment to inclusivity and community is further exemplified by its ongoing projects and initiatives, which continue to push boundaries in providing housing and care for people with complex needs.

The event also offers the public the opportunity to learn more about Capability Scotland’s future plans, including the development of a new purpose-built facility at Bertha Park, designed to set new standards in inclusive living.

Join Upper Springland on 9th August to experience the Battle of the Clans and a day of joy and community spirit.
