HOUSE-hunters have been offered the chance to snatch up a modern £5m countryside mansion that featured on Grand Designs: House of the Year.
The stunning five-bed, five-bath Downley House in Petersfield, Hampshire boasts several prestigious architectural and design awards.
It hit the market on Thursday, but house-hunters will need deep pockets if they want to put in an offer, with the property boasting a seven-figure guide price of £5m.
The massive property sits on 2.5 acres of land in South Downs National Park and was built 12 years ago by the current owners.
The house was chosen by Kevin McCloud to host his Grand Designs: House of the Year, boasts a Civic Trust Award and was a finalist for the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Manser Medal.
The oak-clad property features a huge egg-shaped barrel-vaulted central dining hall with a 23-foot-high ceiling and three storeys.
Measuring over 7,300 sq ft and a further 2.5 acres of grounds outside, it is divided into two wings – one for the family with three bedrooms and the other for guests, with two further bedrooms.

The property was shared to social media yesterday by curious house-hunters with the caption: “£5m Grand Designs house in the South Downs National Park.
“Personally, I find the egg-shaped atrium design very odd, and other than that the rest of it is rather uninspiring. Great location though.”
The post received over 140 likes and more than 50 comments from social media users in awe of the stunning property.
One user said: “I straight up love this. All the greenery, and wood. It’s got the right mix of airy and cosy. I can imagine it in every season.
“Plus, it’s actually got curtains, so you’re not always a shining beacon of murder victim at night. Anyone got a few quid to lend me?”
