THIS is the alarming moment a man riding a moped was spotted hurtling along a busy motorway – wearing only shorts and a t-shirt.
The rider was spotted by another driver navigating the traffic on the M4 near Bristol yesterday, despite not being allowed on motorways.
The driver and his pal couldn’t quite believe what they were seeing as the rider – who even has learner plates on – swerved between lanes and wore only a helmet as protection if he fell.
Video filmed from within the following van shows the rider on the M32 at first, approaching its junction with the M4.
As the driver merges on from the previous slip road, he spots the moped casually driving along the white chevrons separating the slip road from the carriageway.
The rider of the black L-plated bike is dressed only in a t-shirt and shorts, with no protective gear apart from his helmet.
The bloke in the van shouts his astonishment, saying: “Who told my man he could take a moped – whoa bro, your sat-nav should not be telling you to… what the f**k are you doing?”
The rider then throws his moped into the lane in front of the driver and heads towards the junction for the M4.
The driver continues: “This is mad, I cannot believe there’s a moped on the f**king motorway.”
As the rider takes the slip road with them, he says: “Oh my lord, he’s going on the M4.”
The driver despairs of the speed the errant moped rider has reduced him to, saying: “We’re not even doing 40 bro.”
He then turns his attention to the rider’s choice of outfit, pointing out: “Look at his t-shirt. If you get licked off, you’re going to be mashed up.”
His friend in the passenger seat then quips: “Somebody call 911.”
Despite being unable to hear the pair ripping him to shreds, the rider turns round and looks at them.
The driver cries: “Don’t look at me bro, what the f**k?”
The moped then does another perilous swing over the chevrons and on to the motorway.
The driver pulls up alongside him and shouts out of the window: “Bro, you shouldn’t be on here.”
Somehow, the rider appears to get the message, and steers the moped out of the traffic and over to the left, much to the relief of the driver who says: “F**king hell mate.”
The video was shared to social media yesterday, where it received over 11,000 likes and more than 170 comments from social media users both shocked and amused at the scenes.
One commented: “Fine and six points there.”
A second wrote: “[At] Least he’s indicating I guess.”
Another said: “As a biker, this makes me so mad.”
A fourth quipped: “Didn’t know GTA 6 was out.”
Another joked: “To be fair. He’s going quicker than those grannies in their Honda Jazz.”
