BrewDog opens first bar in Thailand amidst global expansion

BREWDOG, the independent craft brewer, has opened its first bar in Thailand, in the heart of Bangkok.

A major international expansion has already seen new bars open in Perth, Rotterdam, and Denver this year.

The new Bangkok bar is part of a partnership with Atalanta Hospitality, with the two companies striking a deal that will bring several bars to the city over the coming years.

It forms part of BrewDog’s plans to expand further across Asia.

BrewDog Bangkok is in the heart of the upscale Ploenchit district, located directly opposite the iconic Central Embassy.

The craft brewer currently operates over 120 bars and hotels across the world.

Last year, it announced plans to open another 200 venues in key markets across the globe over the next seven years.

Jerry Taechaubol, CEO of Atalanta Hospitality, said: “We are very excited to introduce BrewDog to Bangkok and allow Thai people to experience craft beer in a new dimension and create a unique space that connects family and friends.

“Our super prime location in Ploenchit is a fantastic first bar venue and is only a two-minute walk from Ploenchit BTS station opposite to Central Embassy.”

James Brown, CEO of BrewDog Bars, said: “Last year we set ourselves a bold goal to treble our bar estate over the next decade.

“I’m immensely proud to see that plan is already bearing fruit with fantastic new locations opening all over the world and entering new markets for the first time.

“We have a brilliant set of local partners, who we are incredibly grateful to be working with to help spread our passion for quality craft beer.”
