ANTI-abortion protestors have relentlessly continued to picket outside Glasgow health centres despite the buffer zone bill passing last month.
The buffer zone bill, which was overwhelmingly passed by MSPs last month, means protestors will not be allowed to gather within 200m of hospitals and clinics.
However, protestors were back out again yesterday, where they were spotted standing outside the Glasgow Royal Infirmary.
With the bill still requiring royal assent before it becomes law though, nothing could be done to remove them – despite the outspoken fury of locals.
An image of the protestors shows men and women alike lined up outside the hospital holding placards and signs decrying abortion.
At least eight protestors litter the pavement near the infirmary with signs hanging around their necks that are emblazoned with anti-abortion rhetoric.
One sign reads “Don’t be coerced into abortion”, whilst another appears to have a picture of a newborn baby with the words “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you”.
The protestors also seem to have put up signs on the fence behind them with several large pieces of card displaying rhetoric – which looks to have been blurred out – attached to the chain links.
The snap was shared to social media yesterday with the caption: “Anti-abortion protests continue despite buffer zone bill passing.
“Royal assent needed before the law can be enforced.”
The post received over 220 likes and more than 280 comments from Scots left enraged by the presence of the protestors.
One user said: “Just need some patience. Once it officially becomes law the police will have the powers to deal with them.”
Another added: “A lot of these political things are no more than a wee day out for people that have nothing else on.”
A third commented: “I don’t think any of them have to worry about an unwanted pregnancy.”
Another replied: “Anyone know someone with a manure spreader? I mean it just has to drive past them and accidentally press the button for it to spray.”
A fifth wrote: “Wretched scum. I dearly hope I never see this in person. I really don’t know if I would be able to control myself.”
