SCOTS have raised questions over a bus that has allegedly been left mysteriously abandoned on a local street for seven weeks.
Concerns were finally raised on Monday over the bus, which was found parked on St Clair Street in Kirkcaldy, Fife, with its doors wide open.
Bewildered locals have come up with little explanation for why the transport has been abandoned, with the vehicle quickly becoming a target for vandalism.
Images show the dark green bus parked up at the side of the deserted road without a soul in sight.
On the pavement outside lies a seat apparently ripped from inside the vehicle and dumped without care.
The doors to the bus stand open, allowing anyone from the local area to stroll in and do whatever damage they desire.
The snaps were shared to social media on Monday with the caption: “There’s a bus that’s been parked up the top of St Clair Street, been there for about seven weeks now.
“It’s open and getting destroyed by bairns, just to see about awareness to get it moved, even if someone wants to pinch it for themselves.”
The post has since received over 270 likes and more than 110 comments from locals quick to share their own opinions.
One wrote: “Seven weeks! Council should get it moved and charge the owner.”
Another noted: “Still got its windows, it’s not destroyed enough to be an eyesore.”
A third suggested: “Make a great motorhome that would.”
Another joked: “They were going to Germany with it to support Scotland, but it broke down. They were the lucky ones that didn’t get there to watch a dose of pish.”
A fifth commented: “Driver probably s**t himself when he got that far and decided he wasn’t getting paid enough to go any further.”
Others were quick to make a sly dig at Fife’s bus service, with one quipping: “Maybe the express service from Stagecoach that is missing in action.”
Another added: “It’s the number eight, Stagecoach cancelled it because only the old folk use it.”
The bus was reportedly spotted being loaded onto the back of a lorry yesterday, but still with no explanation as to how it ended up abandoned in the first place.
