THIS is the shocking moment that a London moped rider spits at a van driver – who promptly hops out and chases after him.
The scenes unfolded in front of a delivery rider who watched on as the pair argued whilst waiting in a queue of traffic on St Pancras Way in Camden Town, London.
With the spat becoming heated quickly, it culminates in the moped rider spitting through the van driver’s window and driving off – causing his furious victim to leap out and try to chase him down.
Video shows the L-plated moped pulling up alongside an electrician’s van as traffic slows to a stop for traffic lights on red.
With the moped rider seemingly having been ticked off by something the van driver has already done, he shouts something unintelligible at the electrician.
The bloke asks: “You alright?”
This enrages the moped rider, who snaps back: “What the f**k do you mean, you alright?”
The driver then appears to throw litter at the rider, who then spits at the van’s open window without skipping a beat, before speeding away.
The van driver attempts to reach out and grab him as he zooms off but misses and speeds after him instead.
The van is then forced to stop in a queue of traffic further up the road as the moped rides into the distance and around the corner through a red light.
However, this doesn’t stop the driver abandoning the van to hare after his assailant on foot, to the astonishment of the rider filming.
The rider says: “Oh it is kicking off today. He’s getting out the bloody van.
“Oh my God, he’s left his van to chase the driver.”
The van driver’s efforts are in vain though, with the moped rider having long disappeared out of sight and he quickly gives up, turning round and heading back to his vehicle.
The filming delivery driver laughs as he quips: “What a way to start off the shift”.
The video was posted to social media on Saturday with the caption: “Van driver runs after a moped rider in road rage in London”.
The clip has since received dozens of likes and comments from users – most of whom opted to defend the van driver.
One user said: “Shame he never caught him, spit at anyone and you deserve the hiding of your life”.
Another was equally disgusted, writing: “Proper scummy behaviour that, spitting on someone”.
Another pointed out though that the van driver kicked off first, saying: “The van driver threw something first? So he got what he deserved and was made to look like a mug”.
